Short History:
The Department of Strength of Materials was funded
in 1923. The Laboratory of Materials Testing was developed simultaneously and
has played a very important part in solving problems for the industry of western
side of Romania. The development of the laboratory has been achieved by
government funding, faculty contribution and funding from industry. It is
officially authorized now for performing the entire of mechanical testing.
